Blogging Guidelines

Posted by sbadmin in Blog Posts

We are fortunate to have our class blogs and to be able to share the story of our school year. Keeping these blogs a safe and secure place to work is very important. Through the use of the blog the children in Southbourne Junior School have the opportunity to develop their understanding of online safety and how to behave when on the web.

We have a few simple guidelines that we need to keep to in order to make the most of our class blogs.

  • Children are to only use their first name when commenting.
  • Parents who leave comments are asked to either use their first name only so as not to identify their child, or post comments as “Peter’s Dad” or “Sophie’s Nan”.
  • All posts will be checked by a teacher before they are published to the blog.
  • All comments are moderated by the class teacher before they appear on the blog.
  • Always be respectful of other people’s work – be positive if you are going to comment.
  • No text talk – write in full sentences and read your comments back carefully before submitting.
  • Everyone at Southbourne Junior School will stick to these guidelines.

Welcome to a new year at Southbourne Junior School. We’ve now been blogging for more than a year and this year we’ll be making a few changes to make sure we share even more of our wonderful work with the World. Instead of having blogs for each class, you’ll now fine year group blogs. Please explore the work on these blogs and share your thoughts in the comments. If you do wish to find any of the old class pages to enjoy some of the work from last year then simply follow the links on the Archive page.
